Team members from Charter Schools USA will arrive in Lafayette to deliver lunch and relief supplies to the community on Thurs. 8/25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy at 205 Vienne Lane in Lafayette. The community is invited to have a meal and gather supplies that have been donated and collected including non-perishable food, toiletries and personal items, clothing and other supplies.

“During tragedies like this, we really get to appreciate that our schools are truly like a family,” said Sherry Hage. “We know that families throughout this community are hurting and our team bonded together to try and share the burden in a way that makes a difference. Our schools fortunately did not sustain any major damage, so we were able to open up and begin helping students and families get back to some semblance of normal. We are serving students hot meals and providing a stable environment where they can begin learning again. It’s tragic that some schools in Baton Rouge have not been as blessed. We hope we can accommodate some students who no longer have a school. One of the main things children need is to get back to what is familiar. We want the community to know that we are here for them.”
